Chapter Twelve
The Funeral
Pa Zurike’s death made his children take a big goat to their grandmother’s kinsmen in Mboke to fulfill all the necessary rights and perform certain traditions that had to be done. The funeral day finally came and Okolochi community was in attendance. All participated from far and near in one way or the other. Some group of women later came to perform the burial rites. Deze also danced while the burial rites were performed. After the dance, Pa Zurike was finally buried and food given to all who attended the burial ceremony.
